چکیده
Insects, such as crickets, are being used a viable food source in many regions of the world, given their nutritional value for human and animal consumption. This study investigated viral communities present European house crickets whether feed influences composition crickets’ virome. The were reared under environmentally controlled conditions fed fresh red clover (fresh), haylage (haylage), hay (hay) or control feed. metagenomic analysis six replicates from each treatment showed that only few reads classified viruses, mainly assigned to phages insect-related viruses. A significant difference ( P <0.001) was observed between different treatments regard number reads. highest identified (2,568 reads), whereas had fewest (90). Phages all treatments; however, they clearly dominant treatments. limited insect plant Xinmoviridae, Polydnaviridae, Metaviridae , unclassified ‘other’ viruses also found results this may indicate determines richness flora but overall, very identified, making it hard draw any conclusion regarding impact on richness.

The neuromuscular mechanism of stridulation in crickets (Orthoptera: Gryllidae).
Study of the insect neuromuscular system appears very promising as a means of explaining behaviour in terms of cellular operation. The relatively small number of neurons, the ganglionic nature of the nervous system, the simplicity of the neuromuscular arrangement, and the repetitiveness of behavioural sequences all lend themselves to a solution of this problem. As a result, an increasing number...
متن کاملHow Dietary Phosphorus Availability during Development Influences Condition and Life History Traits of the Cricket, Acheta domesticas
Phosphorus is extremely limited in the environment, often being 10-20 times lower in plants than what invertebrate herbivores require. This mismatch between resource availability and resource need can profoundly influence herbivore life history traits and fitness. This study investigated how dietary phosphorus availability influenced invertebrate growth, development time, consumption, condition...
متن کاملContrasting the Chromosomal Organization of Repetitive DNAs in Two Gryllidae Crickets with Highly Divergent Karyotypes
A large percentage of eukaryotic genomes consist of repetitive DNA that plays an important role in the organization, size and evolution. In the case of crickets, chromosomal variability has been found using classical cytogenetics, but almost no information concerning the organization of their repetitive DNAs is available. To better understand the chromosomal organization and diversification of ...
متن کاملSound radiation and wing mechanics in stridulating field crickets (Orthoptera: Gryllidae).
Male field crickets emit pure-tone mating calls by rubbing their wings together. Acoustic radiation is produced by rapid oscillations of the wings, as the right wing (RW), bearing a file, is swept across the plectrum borne on the left wing (LW). Earlier work found the natural resonant frequency (f(o)) of individual wings to be different, but there is no consensus on the origin of these differen...
